Das Originals-Erlebnis

Highlights

Our guide (Gorasj?) was very personable, but he had a heavy accent, which made it difficult to understand him. He also drove very fast. It’s safe to say that he continually passed 90% of the people on the road. Due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control, our tour at the caves took a little longer than anticipated., so we were a little late to Piran. . As it turned out, we got back to Ljubjlana an hour early. He provided narrative along the way, but not the whole time we were in the van. Tickets to the cave were not included. In reality, we paid a lot of money for transportation to the cave and Piran and didn’t have as long of a trip as described on the site.

We had a terrific day. Gorazd was an excellent guide. We were lucky to have him. He talked to us pretty much all the time during the outwards drive. So we learnt a great deal of interest. It’s a long day but not too much walking (only in the caves). Gosh those caves are spectacular. Probably not ideal for anyone with vertigo or mobility issues. Piran is special and we had plenty of time to find a restaurant for lunch and a swim afterwards. Highly Recommended trip.

I would highly recommend this tour! Everything was perfectly arranged, from the comfortable and seamless transportation to the excellent pace of the itinerary and every detail throughout the day. We did not have to worry about anything, which allowed us to fully enjoy the experience. A very special thank you goes to our guide, Jan. He was absolutely fantastic: friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what he does. He shared information in a very engaging and natural way, answered every question, and created a great atmosphere from start to finish. The transport was very comfortable, and the entire day ran smoothly and punctually. Everything was exceptionally well planned and organized to the highest standard. This was one of the best tours we have ever taken, definitely worth it!

Three good stops. Cave visit was well worth it; a really great experience. Short stop at the old castle allowed us to see the neighbouring countries and just how small the Slovenian coastline is. Piran is a good spot with lots of places to get into the sea for a swim but it was hard to find a shaded spot, wandering round the narrow streets was interesting. Trip home was longer than expected due to heavy traffic on the motorway but the guide (Jacob) took a more scenic route which was much appreciated :)

The caves are unmissable. Absolutely breathtaking, inside and out. we visited Postojno caves a couple of days before, they too were amazing, but Skocjan caves were my favourite. Piran is very picturesque. We had time for lunch and walked the city walls. All in all, a fabulous day to remember.

The host Gordana was amazing. She was so knowledgeable and taught us so much about the history of Slovenia, modern day life, the language, etc. She is a great representative for her country. She was patient and took care of the needs of the group. I would recommend this trip for anyone wanting a great guide and transport to the caves and Piran.

Very relaxed tour. We stopped at a few view point which was great and during the drive the guide gave information which was great. Very friendly and relaxed. We had a lot of free time on the tour to explore by ourselves which was good, the tour was mainly to take us to areas we would have struggled to reach by public transport. Therefore perhaps on the more expensive side, but the minibus was very well air conditioned and comfortable and the pickup point so convenient. The guide was friendly and informative, suggesting great places to eat

It was fabulous. Our guide gave us lots of local information whilst we drove to the caves. The caves were amazing; what an experience 🙂. Then onto castle for an amazing view. We also visited the walls of Piran before spending the afternoon in Piran. What a lovely town.
